Barry Team Wins Best Brief at the National Tax Law Competition
Please join the entire Barry Law Moot Court Honors Board in congratulating our 2006 Moot Court Tax Team for winning Best Brief at the National Tax Law Moot Court Competition !

It is particularly gratifying to take home another award for writing. High-level critical analysis and persuasive writing are perhaps the most difficult skills to master as a law student, and it is a tribute to our students that they are succeeding so brilliantly at it.

Teammates Betty Cheramie, Carrie Hixson, and Brian Furgala had a very strong showing in their oral argument rounds as well, with each of them contending for the Best Advocate award. On the strength of these arguments, our team advanced to the quarter finals, where they lost to Stetson in a very close, 2-1 split decision. In fact, several judges commented that the Barry-Stetson argument was the best of the competition. Not surprisingly, after squeaking past our Barry team, Stetson coasted to the championship.
